While the deal seems as good as done, other reports have indicated that Giddey has yet to sign his contract, and as of now, he’s just reached an agreement.

The reason for Giddey not signing his contract is due to being in Australia.

But after landing a new deal and being $100 million richer,

Giddey took to Instagram to break his silence on the new deal. He posted a photo of himself in a Bulls jersey, with a simple caption for the fan base.

"@chicagobulls 🔒🫶🏼," he posted.

It'll be interesting to see how the four years play out for Giddey, as the Bulls will continue to need young talent to step up.

After months of questions surrounding what the Chicago Bulls would do with Josh Giddey in free agency, Shams Charania of ESPN reported that he plans on signing a $100 million deal with the organization.

“Just in: Restricted free agent Josh Giddey has reached agreement on a four-year, $100 million deal to re-sign with the Chicago Bulls, agent Daniel Moldovan of Lighthouse Sports Management tells ESPN,” Charania wrote.

$100 million is a lot of money to invest in him, but the Bulls clearly think they have something. Given how young he is and the season he had a year ago, it isn’t unfair for the Bulls to believe that.

It's also possible that he could be an engine for a championship team, depending on the pieces around him.

Giddey is a tough player to evaluate in some sense. He's exactly what many think he is as a player, which is someone who could possibly be a third option on a championship team.

It's the commercial appeal with Nike, Gatorade, McDonald's and more. You can always make a case for LeBron James based on statistics and longevity. James is the NBA's all-time leading scorer with 42,184 points and will play a 23rd season in 2025-26

"He was so telegenic," Bob Costas told Sporting News. "He was so rewarding to watch. He was such a beautiful player to watch and he was with one team. So it's Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls. Not LeBron James and the Cavs, the Heat, the Cavs again and the Lakers and sometimes with teams that he put together like he was in a pickup game."

Jordan's 6-0 record in the NBA Finals is the trump card when it comes to his case as the greatest basketball player of all time, but it's more than that. It's the collection of unforgettable moments he delivered in those six NBA Finals. It's the Dream Team in the 1992 Summer Olympics.

Start with the opening monologue. Play the intro riff. Show the Peacock. Then, pan to Michael Jordan shooting jumpers in that white-on-white Chicago Bulls warmup suit. A few minutes later, watch the lights go out in the United Center. Listen to the first chords of "Sirius" by the Alan Parsons Project before the starting lineup was introduced.

The four most watched NBA Finals and six of the top 10 involved the Bulls with Jordan. The 1998 NBA Finals – Jordan's last with Chicago – pulled in an average of 29 million viewers. This year's NBA Finals between Indiana and Oklahoma City averaged 10.3 million viewers.

"Then you heard 'Roundball Rock,'" Costas said. "People still tell me they watch some of those things on YouTube and get goosebumps all over again. Even younger people who weren't there come to see it first hand, and they are like, 'Wow.'"

Costas was there. He led the "NBA on NBC" coverage during an era of NBA basketball defined by what he called a "constellation of stars." Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls were the main attraction. Re-watch the intro before Game 5 of the 1993 Eastern Conference finals between the Bulls and Knicks.

"It's personal, it's emotional and an almost arbitrary argument, but if you're the greatest to me you have to as well as impact your sport at the highest level, impact society," Smith told SN. "Jordan did that. The only ones who really have done that – sort of this Mount Rushmore thing – Babe Ruth in baseball, Ali, I don't know, maybe Tiger. Maybe golf is not a sport on that level, but you know the people who everybody knows."

Man City star has 'contract waiting' at Portuguese club

Manchester City have been working to secure contract extensions for multiple players, with the latest addition being Rico Lewis. One player who hasn't yet been offered a new contract is captain Bernardo Silva. The 31-year-old was named City captain this summer, but the Portuguese international has entered the final year of his contract. Silva could see himself leaving the club soon, with Benfica's hierarchy aiming to secure his signature. What did Benfica's administration say about Silva joining the club?Speaking to Portuguese outlet A Bola, one of Benfica's presidential candidates, João Noronha Lopes, said, "I can confirm that a contract is waiting for Bernardo Silva. "And I really want to bring Bernardo in in January. He embodies everything I want for Benfica: identity, a winning culture, and he's a huge Benfica fan. And I can assure you that we won't stop here."📲 Follow The Sporting News on WhatsAppSilva went through Benfica's youth system before joining Monaco in 2015. The midfielder left Monaco in 2017 to join Man City, where he has been since. Benfica's manager, Bruno Lage, also spoke on Silva's future, saying, "From what I know about Bernardo and his motivation is that soon, I don't know when, but soon, he will be a Benfica player regardless of the president."Pep Guardiola has strongly criticized having a big squad, which could be a reason that Silva could leave in one of the next transfer windows. With Silva's contract expiring soon, Guardiola and City's hierarchy will have to decide on whether to extend the veteran midfielder or not.
