In order to take chemistry you are highly recommended to get a C+ in both science and math because chemistry is intertwined with math and science making it limited to people who are good at math, and besides, if you're not getting at least a B in any of your courses as a grade 11, you ain't getting into that dream university of yours.

Course needed to take this course: Science 10 and Math10
highly recommended to get C+ or better in both Science 10 and Math10

Summary: This course is an introductory course which means it's introducing the course to students and then help prepare them for studying this subject at an advanced / higher level making it easier (obviously). Chemistry 11 focuses on laboratory handling, conducting experiments and observing them, scientific experiments and more.

Chemistry 11

Chemistry is probably what most people should pick next even though is much more difficult than any other science related course. Chemistry is about the structure of atoms and compositions. You're probably wondering how math is related to chemistry and it really depends on which subject you're on since some subjects are more math heavy than others. Take theoretical quantum chemistry for example, TQC applies Quantum theories to figure out and predict how atoms move which Quantum theories are math heavy.

Chemistry 12

Course needed to take this course: Chemistry 11
highly recommended to get C+ or better in Chemistry 11 and Math 11

This course is very difficult since you need to understand ALL of the previously learned stuff in Chemistry 11 to do well in AP chemistry 12 are: introduction to Observation of matter, introduction to molecular chemistry, introduction to electrochemistry, equilibrium, and acid and bases, and states of matter. Laboratory work is mandatory and not doing it will result in a fail. It will also include quantitative and qualitative analysis. Learning will be placed on problem solving, conceptual understanding and critical thinking.

AP Chemistry 12

AP or Advanced Placement, is a term used for courses that are teaching university level stuff which is only meant for grade 12s, on top of the fact that chemistry is ranked top 5 hardest in the world which means that AP chemistry is going to be one difficult challenge to pass, but what is in AP chemistry 12. Well the course primarily focuses on preparing the student for university level stuff which means that if you're up for a challenge or if you're parents force you into it, you should take it. Topics may include Observation of matter, molecular chemistry, electrochemistry, and equilibrium.

AP Chemistry 12 can be taken simultaneously with Chemistry 12

Summary

The student learns and gains complex understandings about not just chemistry but get free insights on physics and biology too. You learn also learn competencies which are built on previously in science 10
