Why should I take chemistry?

According to many studies and surveys from high school students, chemistry is in the top 5 hardest courses to take globally, so you're wondering, why should I take one of the most difficult courses in school?

The regular courses themselves aren't too difficult but firstly, lets look at what makes AP chemistry 12 difficult in the first place.
In AP chemistry 12, you learn
Structure of Matter
Organic Chemistry
States of Matter
Descriptive Chemistry
Reactions
Laboratory

You also need to get a good grade in math 11 and chemistry 11 too, so if you're not good in math, then you basically can't take chemistry. Chemistry also requires a lot of time, effort, and commitment for you to successfully pass it.

Here are a few reasons why you should take chemistry even though it's difficult

1. The JOBS

Pharmacologists get paid around 130 - 160 thousand, it's also the only good job aside from chemistry professor which only pays 105 thousand

2. University

IF you are planning on going to university and have a higher chance of getting accepted, you should take AP chemistry (and get a good grade) as you have experience with handling intense work, which is perfect since AP or advanced placement courses is specifically designed to be on a equivalent / similar level of first year university level work.

3. School credit

Getting school credit is mandatory for graduating and also gives you the benefit of first year university chemistry credit but you must get a minimum score of 4 and school credit in order to receive it

4.
It makes you very smart and educated on chemistry itself from the rigorous training you go through

My name is Albert Epstein and I have a degree in musical engineering and I'm technically a scientist

Of course, you don't have to take it since everyone is entitled to do what ever they want to do with their life, and like I said, it's difficult where globally, ~50% of people fail AP chemistry 12

I personally think that it's not worth it and you should just take the regular course unless if you find the regular chemistry courses to be too easy and boring.

Summary

There's not much taking chemistry offers aside from school credit and making your submission to university admission officers look good and giving you a better chance to get into a good university. Not 100% worth it but you could probably take it if you find chemistry easy.
