BIOLOGY

There is no definite biology course (except for AP 12) because biology is split into different courses because of it's vast amount of individual subjects, it really just depends on what you want to learn since like I stated, Biology is divided into multiple more subjects which you then learn about in AP biology 12.
LIFE SCIENCES 11
Prerequisite: Science 10
This course is about basic biological principles and studying the anatomy of organisms. Students will learn a diverse amount of organisms to understand the unique adaptations and abilities they have evolved. Use of the scientific process and critical thinking skills for labs and class work is strongly defined. Laboratory work, including a variety of animal and plant dissections, will be a core fundamental part of the course
Topics are
Cell Biology
Microbiology
Mycology
Botany
Zoology
Ecology
SC: ADVANCED PLACEMENT BIOLOGY 12
Courses needed to take this course: B or better in Life Sciences 11 or Life Sciences 11 Enriched, B or better in Anatomy / Physiology 12 or Anatomy / Physiology 12 Enriched OR taking Anatomy / Physiology 12 or Enriched concurrently.
Recommended: B or better in Chemistry 11
AP or Advanced Placement Biology 12 is designed to be the equivalent of first year university level biology which makes it far more difficult than usual. In biology 12, things that are mandatory are laboratory skills and experiments and you MUST complete them since these tests can be inspected in AP biology exams. Other than that, there's not much info on what else the student learns since this course primarily focuses on helping the student prepare for / getting into university.
AP Biology can be successfully completed ONLY if they have completed Life Science 11 and Anatomy / Physiology 12 previously
Or if they're taking Anatomy / Physiology 12 concurrently with AP Biology 12.
Life Science 11 Enriched and Anatomy / Physiology 12 Enriched is HIGHLY recommended to ensure that the student can go through the course without needing to do work from the previous year to catch up and also pass through smoothly
Summary
You learn the anatomy and explore the complexities of living organisms ranging from micro bacteria to fungus. From dna to evolution and so much more.
