AP Chemistry is a subject that is branched out from science and has mini topics which are

Chemical equilibrium

Chemical kinetics

Stoichiometry

Thermodynamics

Electrochemistry

States of matter

kinetic theory

Solutions

Structure of matter

Atomic theory

Chemical bonding, including intermolecular forces

Molecular models

Mass spectrometry

Thermochemistry

Chemical equilibrium

Gas laws calculations

These topics make AP chemistry seem difficult but most of them are just concepts you learn inside of the actual topics like state of matter, reactions, lab precautions etc.

AP chemistry is known for its difficulty although in recent years, the course has roughly an 18% average where the student scores a 5 on the test, ~28.5% score a 4, ~31.5% score a 3, ~16% scored a 2, and the rest scored a 1 or failed.

In order to receive the university credit which allows students who receive it to completely skip the first year introductory course at university because they basically done it already, students must get a 4 or higher on the exam and have school credit high enough for it to be granted

So in conclusion

AP chemistry is a good course to take if you're planning to go to a low acceptance rate university but getting a good grade on the exam isn't the only key thing about getting accepted into top university's. You also learn complex concepts in chemistry that is later useful when looking into jobs
