What are the goals in social studies

According to the paragraph, the goal of social studies is for students learn the skills to take part in a democratic society by analyzing perspectives, respecting different values / POVs and critically analyzing information.

Not only that, it also helps you become educated about the past and inferring on how it changed the world because of it, allowing you to inform others on the past and also simultaneously making you more mature

Other goals may also include

  • Learning real world skills

  • Understanding others / human rights

  • Making non-biased opinions

  • Awareness of humans and their capabilities

Why are these goals important?

here are 3 reasons why as to why these goals are important

1. The reason why you learn these goals is because of how destructive the nature human can be if we never had any respect or kept track of what is true versus what is lies and propaganda. Many examples are from wars all across the world such as the Vietnam War, the Cold War, and WWI / WWII

2. You become smarter because of the goals put in place. The word "smart" kind of has lost it's meaning since the definition of the word smart is: having or showing a quick-witted intelligence : which is not the meaning you would expect.

We think of the word "smart" as in a highly intelligent being who is capable of doing things that nobody else could have realized, and I don't mean become smarter as in Albert Einstein figuring out new breakthroughs in science and math. I mean smarter as in you can understand things far more clearer than before.

Being "not smart" doesn't have anything to do with genes or you not understanding a concept that's too complex for the average person, it really just has to do with how you're living, your lifestyle, and sleep.

3. you learn them for the foundation of other competencies in social studies, and also because you have to learn them. If you dislike social studies, just lock in brah. Change your mindset, instead of thinking that you

Conclusion

Basically, you learn how to become a better person for the society while also simultaneously saving your future from dumb decisions you could make. The social studies course also expands on previous taught skills in grade 8 while also adding new ones and combining them together
